Sprint Triathlon Details

The Adult Sprint Triathlon (ages 12 and up) will begin immediately following the Youth Triathlon but not before 9:30 am.

Swim and Transition Area

The Sprint Triathlon begins with a 750 m swim within the southwestern most bay of the Great Sacandaga Lake.  The swim will consist of a single out and back (out on the left, back on the right).  The transition from swim to bike is relatively long with the bike transition area approximately 200 yards from the lake along a slight upward sloping trail from the water’s edge to the bike staging area.  The surface of the trail is primarily dirt with some gravel. (Note: Those with sensitive feet may want to bring something to slip on their feet after the swim).

Bike CourseThe bike portion of the race will consist of a 20 km (12.5 mi) loop along rolling terrain north of the Village of Broadalbin.  The bike route makes a left out of the Sacandaga Bible Conference facility, headed north on Lakeview Drive, left on County Route 110, right on County Route 138, bearing left onto Lampman Road, right on Rebisz Road, left onto County Route 138, right onto Union Mills Road, then right onto County Highway 110 in the Village of Broadalbin, left onto Lakeview Drive and left back into the Sacandaga Bible Conference facility.  There will be a water station at approximately the halfway point of the loop.

Run Course

The run portion of the race will consist of a 5 km (3.1 mi) out and back along relatively flat terrain from the Sacandaga Bible Conference facility to just beyond the Sacandaga Boat Club and back.  There will be a water station located at the turn.
